Professor Karine Le Roch, PhD, has more than 30 years of experience in drug discovery, functional genomics, and infectious diseases.  Dr. Le Roch is an expert in:

  • high-throughput functional genomics
  • large genome-wide data set analysis
  • epigenetics
  • chromatin structure
  • non-coding RNAs
  • gene regulation
  • RNA biology 
  • systems biology 

 

Karine has led therapeutic efforts in:

EDUCATION

Dr. Le Roch trained as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Winzeler at The Scripps Research Institute on the functional genomics of malaria parasites. Karine earned her PhD at the University of Paris – Sorbonne under the supervision of Prof. Deorig focusing on cell cycle regulation and protein kinases in the human malaria parasite and her Master’s degree in Parasitology at the University of Lille II, France and the University of Oxford, UK. She received her BA in biochemistry/chemistry from the University of Paris – Sorbonne.

  • Fellow, Genomic Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) leading the malaria drug discovery program
  • Assistant, Associate and full Professor at the University of California Riverside (UCR)
